Course: Community Health Worker
Essential skills needed to become a community health worker include the integration of the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the individual, family, and community while providing the science, philosophical foundation, and basic noninvasive technical skills. The Community Health Worker Training Program (CHWTP) will help to expand the public health workforce by training new and existing CHWs and health support workers. The goals of the program include increasing health knowledge and self-sufficiency through outreach, individual and group education, coaching, social support, clinical training, advocacy, and networking.
Class time: Tuesdays from 6 pm to 8 pm and Thursdays from 6 pm to 9 pm
