Emerging Technology

Autonomous Vehicle Program

Pima Community College, with its partner TuSimple, has designed the first autonomous vehicle program.

Before the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, January 2021, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg noted that among emerging technologies, policy has not kept up with innovation, including on workforce development.

Pima Community College conducts classes if you were court ordered to attend traffic survival school.  Certified through the Arizona Chapter of the National Safety Foundation and the State of Arizona, our Transportation Division uses an interactive approach to traffic school that won’t have you asleep in the back row!

Through Pima’s Center for Transportation Training, you can earn your Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in as little as 6.5 weeks, and receive comprehensive hands-on, on-the-road-training on the very trucks and trailers you’ll be driving.
