Course: Introduction to Biotechnology
This course is designed to inspire the next generation of scientists through hands-on experiments and simulations that expose young learners to molecular biology (or DNA) and biotechnology. Students will learn basic laboratory skills, such as pipetting, measuring, and performing simple experiments, that they will then use to solve scientific problems encountered in fields ranging from food safety to genetic engineering and testing. In the process, students will gain exposure to tools and equipment used in standard molecular biology and biotechnology laboratories. Through a combination of hands-on experiments, role-playing scenarios, and lively group discussions, students will gain a solid introduction to the field of biotechnology and the confidence to pursue a scientific career in the future.
